Whenever we are stressed and just need some time out, we tend to go to a Day Spa in order to ensure our body, mind and souls are taken care of. However, you may be forgetting the one part of your body that needs to be pampered the most which are Your FEET. We usually just see our feet as limbs that look good with fancy shoes, or toes that get to be painted in pretty colours. As convincing as this may sound, it doesn’t make sense. Our feet are just as important when it comes to stress relief as you won’t just be taking weight off your shoulders, but also off your feet.

Your feet carry your weight all day and if your feet get tired and swollen, you will discover that you become tired and uncomfortable instantly. Do you go shopping and find after an hour or two that your feet are aching but you would rather go home and sleep? Does that make sense?

Personally the best massage that your body deserves to receive is a foot massage, your toes need that extra soothing touch, and you heels need to be embraced with salt or sugar scrubs to assist with dry skin. After having a foot massage, you will leave fresh, energized and rejuvenated instantly.

Chances are you will probably go home and spend the rest of the day touching your soft and smooth feet. Some of us are rather squeamish when it comes to foot massages, as it’s not the most attractive thing to put your cracked heels in front of a stranger, however the staff that are about to give you a foot massage are trained and professional and are there to treat your feet. Luckily for you, professionals that choose to massage feet are interested in healing feet and you will be in good hands, so you can stop worrying.

After having your feet massaged and treated, it would only be fair to indulge in a spectacular pedicure or finish the day off with some toe art or colour blend that could be applied to your nails. This way you will have more reason to stare and touch your feet at home. You will discover that by having a foot treatment, that you will be able to spend more time in the shops and will be back for more treatments.

If you have decided to take some time out for yourself and would like to cleanse your body of unwanted waste, then a Body wrap would definitely be a great option.

Usually a body wrap would entail you being wrapped in seaweed, algae, clay or a mud solution and generally spend about 20 minutes wrapped up and kept warm. After this treatment you will be washed off and have lotion applied to your body. Just like your facials masks, this is a treat that is similar however applied to your whole body. These types of wraps are designed to detox your body and get rid of unwanted toxins, and hydrate your skin in the process allowing you to feel smooth and silky.

During your 20 minute body wrap session, you will be surrounded by candles and light earthy music in order to relax your soul and rejuvenate your mind. Take this time to relax and try and block out any stresses that you may have to ensure you take advantage of the entire process.

By choosing a Body Wrap treatment, you need to be aware that only certain spas include a body massage, as this treatment is generally taken care of by Mother Nature’s products in order to release your bodies’ toxins. If you would like a massage or is expecting one then it would be ideal to confirm this with the Day Spa staff members to ensure you get what you are expecting.

So what exactly is Aromatherapy?

If you have decided to go for Aromatherapy, you will discover that this is a treatment done with essential oils and plant compounds which are believed to heal a person’s health and mind.

There are three different types of Aromatherapy that are used by therapists:
Aerial diffusion is a treatment where oils are released in order to disinfect the air.
Topical is a treatment where essential oils are applied to your skin by the use of massage or perhaps added to a bath.

The last one is an inhalation treatment where one will inhale the smell from the oils, usually to assist with decongestion and to assist the respiratory.

There are many uses of Aromatherapy, such as

a Cure for stress

Anxiety

Headache

Insomnia

and more…

It is usually best to discuss the different treatments with your therapist in order to ensure you receive the right treatments to suit your needs. There are many factors you need to keep in mind and need to tell your therapist. If you are allergic to nut products, you need to advise the therapist as some oils contact nut products that could be absorbed into your blood flow. The most important one is to mention if you are pregnant. If you would like to be extra careful, then you can contact your physician and discuss any oils that should be avoided.

There are long lists of aromatherapy products that can be used during your treatments which all cure different things.

Products:

Sandalwood (Used as a aphrodisiac)

Lemon Oil

Lavender (Relief of stress and depression)

Jasmine (Used as a aphrodisiac)

Geranium (Assist with the loss of excess water and used as an antiseptic)

Eucalyptus (Assists by opening up the airways which is usually a problem when one has the flu)

Clove Oil (Used for pain relief in tooth aces prevents stomach gas, and assists with nausea)

Citronella Oil (Insect Repellent)

Black pepper (Pain relief for aches and pains)

Bergamot (Assists digestive and urinary tract)

Bbasil (Assists with concentration and reduces stress).

When you smell something good, your mood generally changes into a positive one, so you are already on the road to recovery should you have chosen Aromatherapy treatments due to illness or sickness.

By visiting a Day Spa, you are guaranteed to get the treatments you deserve. There are a long list of treatments available at Day Spa’s but it is usually best to call your Day Spa before hand to ensure they offer the treatment you require.

Certain Spa’s offer certain treatments, whereby you will discover that your treatment may not be on the list. If you are unsure of the treatments you would like to have but feel like being pampered, then consider taking the basic package that Spa’s offer, alternatively you can contact the Spa you would like to visit and discuss their packages and ask for advice. If you have a specific area that requires a lot of attention (Sports injury or other painful areas), you can discuss this with the staff of professionals that could advise you of the treatments that should be carried out.

If you are under stress and have tense muscles, then you can go for a general massage and consider facials. Through times of stress, our mind, body and soul feel the stress, so it’s best to go to a Spa with a relaxed mind and leave your problems at home. Enjoy yourself and let the treatments take control of your mind, in order to relax and soothe your soul.
